American Fire Control offers several options for our customers that have empty, broken and old fire extinguishers. These options will reduce waste and save our environment.
Reduce / Reuse / Recycle
Option 1: Reduce Have your fire extinguisher inspected annually by our company. Proper maintenance reduces waste! If kept in good working order, your fire extinguisher should last a long time and not end up as waste before its time.
Option 2: Reuse Have your fire extinguisher recharged/ refilled by our company if it is used or empty. Remember that fire extinguishers must be recharged after every use. Fire extinguishers can be recharged many times and reused.
Option 3: Recycle Have your broken or old fire extinguisher picked up by our company. Fire extinguishers are usually made of steel. Recycling steel is very important because of the economic and environmental affects. The energy saved each year by steel recycling is equal to the electrical power used annually by 18 million homes, or enough energy to last LA 8 years.
Although extinguishing agents are non-toxic when used properly, contact with them may cause irritation to eyes, nose, throat, and other allergic symptoms. Call us before attempting to depose.
